Cactus, Continued

Kids were allowed to paint the cactus after it was stable and the papier mache dried. I set out a palette of yellow, green, and blue, and over the course of two days, it was completely coated. It really was coated in one day, but the blue was too overpowering, so it got a second chance.

Did I mention that a little girl suggested the most perfect home for it? I had been asking kids what they thought I should do with it once it was finished, and the girl said "Stick it with all the real plants out there" and pointed to the lobby.

Why didn't I think of that?
