Ribbon Mache?

What can you make with a little flour, water, and a whole bunch of these ribbons?

Lampshades! I papier mached the ribbons over a balloon

Let dry overnight, and presto!

A strong, translucent, multi-colored lampshade. I had pictured it hanging upside-down with a light floating in the middle, but since a floating light and ceiling suspension were not available, I threw it over an Ikea light instead. I wouldn't recommend leaving it there for too long, since the lightbulb creates a bit of heat, but it looks pretty while it lasts!
